Dear friend

The festive season might not be completely over yet but as a keen traveller, we know you're probably already planning your 2019 adventures - and we don't blame you!

Here we give you the low down on all our active sailing adventures… from the classic, well-travelled islands to the off-the-beaten track Small Cyclades to the remote islands in the Dodecanese… from relaxing on deck with a cold drink, to holding the helm, trimming the sails... from scuba diving to hiking, sea kayaking and spotting wildlife… the 2019 promises to be an exciting year!

Our classic sailing route! 7 days in the Cyclades:
The Well-Travelled Islands

They're called Classic for a reason! These islands are known for their traditional medieval villages with white-washed houses, sandy beaches stretching over many kilometers, sheltered bays and coves and small fishing ports and marinas where you can moor in the evening.

Athens to Athens

DAY 1: Meeting & Briefing

image.jpegMeeting at the marina of Alimos, briefing and arrangements of provisions. Supper at a local tavern.

DAY 2: Sail to Kea, “gate of the Cyclades”

Set sail towards Kea and one of its beautiful bays where we will spend the night on the anchor. Visit in the evening the picturesque "chora" on top of the hill with its medieval architecture, white-washed houses and narrow alleys. Perfect place to watch the sunset and enjoy a delicious meal!

DAY 3: Sail to Syros, the capital of the Cyclades

an exciting day sailing, we will moor at Foinikas bay where you can swim at one of its numerous beaches. In the evening you will visit one of the most beautiful towns in Greece because of its neoclassical architecture, historical buildings and culture; the magnificent 18th-century town of Ermoupoli or the town of Hermes. Today you will also enjoy delicious traditional ‘meze’ dishes and if we are lucky listen to the local ‘rebetiko’ music live.

DAY 4: Sail to the deserted islands of Rinia & chic Mykonos

We depart for Rinia, once a thriving ancient port, now a deserted island opposite the island of Mykonos – and according to myth the birth place of Apollo. We stop for a swim in the crystal-clear waters of one of the coves of Rinia. Spend the night on the anchor at the deserted island of Rinia or opposite at Mykonos if you wish to explore the glamorous nightlife of the island.

DAY 5: Sail towards the unspoilt island of Kythnos

In the morning you can visit the famous ancient island of Delos, the most important archeological site of the Cyclades. Time to return towards Athens as we sail towards the island of Kythnos and the bay of Loutro. You will have the chance soak in the natural therapeutic, hot springs and swim in water warmed by them. At night, you can dine under the moonlight at a taverna only feet from the sea.

DAY 6: Sail & sunset below temple of Apollo, Sounio

Today we’ll enjoy a full day sailing towards Cape Sounio. We’ll anchor below the mysterious temple of Apollo. Beautiful bay to swim, incredible sunset to watch. The day will end with another lovely dinner on the beach.

DAY 7: Farewell sail to Athens

We’ll make the most of your last day sailing. We’ll stop on the way at a beautiful bay for a plunge in the crystal clear waters! Return to base and farewell dinner.

The above itineraries are just examples of what you will experience while sailing with us. Please note that all itineraries are subject to changes due to the weather conditions. We’re as flexible as the weather! There are many options of bays, fishing ports and islands to visit so you won’t be disappointed. The starting and ending islands are always set.

Off-the beaten track sailing route!
7 days around the unspoilt Small Cyclades

Going off-the-beaten path is the best way to really get to know a new area; untouched coves, hidden villages, a culture threatened by extinction or simply a place you had never heard of until now.... A little harder to find, but for that reason, to venture off-the-beaten path is an extra special experience.

“This is our best selling sailing holiday holiday... We love this alternative view, which explores beyond the tourist trail.”

This 7-day small group trip, sailing around the Small Cyclades, takes you around the exquisite small, unspoilt Greek islands…. The main islands that we visit are the Iraklia, Amorgos, Schinoussa, Koufonisia, the deserted islands of Dryma & Antikeri or Donousa, offering great sailing legs, beautiful coves and remote bays to anchor, and all boasting stunning natural heritage. We may even be lucky enough to be joined by dolphins as we sail between islands through these clear blue waters.

Paros to Paros

1: Meeting & briefing

Meeting at 17.00pm, briefing and arrangement of provisions. Visit the nearby villages and welcome supper at one of our favourite taverns.

DAY 2: Sail to secluded Antiparos

Sail towards the deserted island of Despotiko near Antiparos where we will anchor for the night. Stop on the way at the deserted islands of Pantieronisia for a swim, snorkel and lunch. Visit the hora (main village) and enjoy supper at one of the best fish taverns in the Aegean.

DAY 3: Sail towards the small, fishing island of Iraklia

Sail towards the unspoilt, traditional fishing island of Iraklia in the Small Cyclades which boasts 80 permanent inhabitants. Stop on the way at Alimia bay for a swim and lunch and snorkel at a 2nd World war hydroplane. Moor at the little fishing port where you get a taste of island life. Home-made supper prepared by Mrs Maria at the picturesque main village.

DAY 4/5: Sail towards the pirate island of Amorgos

Sail towards the island of Amorgos and the bay of Aegiali. Stop on the way at the beautiful bay of Nikouria for a swim and lunch. Enjoy supper at one of the unspoilt villages surrounding the bay of Aegiali.

image.jpegThe following day, explore the island and visit the Monastery of Hozoviotisa built on the cliffs, swim at the waters where the opening scenes of 'Big Blue' by Luc Besson were shot and visit the most picturesque village of the Cyclades, the Chora. Spend the night at Amorgos or short sail towards Koufonisia and moor at a beautiful bay with crystal clear waters.

Day 6: Spend the night between 2 deserted islands

Sail towards the deserted islands of Dryma & Antikeri where we’ll spend the night on the anchor weather permitting. Barbecue on the small beach that is formed between these two islands. Alternative plan: sail to Kato Koufonisi after Dryma, known for its magnificent colours and bays and have supper at the tavern of the only family that lives on the island. They have their own animals, they grow their own vegetables and have their own fishing boat. The food is delicious.

DAY 7: Sail towards a picturesque fishing port in Paros

Sail towards the fishing port of Piso Livadi and the island of Paros. Stop on the way for a swim and lunch. Visit the traditional village of Prodromos and enjoy supper at one of the local taverns.
